recipes for lower cholesterol
We need to eat a variety of foods so I am presenting this page which is a springboard for recipes for health - recipes to help lower cholesterol. These recipes are my own or adaptations of recipes I like. I have been putting whatever I want into smoothies for a while. Sometimes they are delicious, sometimes so so, and other times--you won't see those recipes.
You will find recipes for salads, fish, main dishes and a few other categories on my site. I love recipes as you can see by my pinterest page--or maybe I love food. Most of the things I pin, cupcakes for instance, are not in my plan, but I can dream.
Enjoy a nice smoothie sweetened with dates.
1 handful of spinach
1 c frozen mixed berries
10 frozen cherries (add more if you like)
1 T ground flax seeds
1 T chia seeds
water and ice as desired
2 dates (chopped-dates seem to be the last to incorporate into a smoothie as they resist blending).
Put all ingredients into your blender and blend until as smooth as you like.
Makes 2 1/2 servings
When you see a rib of celery in my smoothie, just know that I will use the smoothie as a dip for the celery while I am drinking my smoothie. It adds a little crunch and tastes good too.
Once I reach my weight goal I will be able to add some other foods, but the basics of this diet is keeping me healthy, trim, and feeling good so I will never stop having fruit for breakfast. When I don't eat fruit for breakfast or some of the Budwig protocol, I find myself slipping off my diet.
Eating a lot of avocados has become so important. We need them as often as possible. If I don't eat an avocado everyday, I try to eat a lot of green vegetable and some other vegetables as well. Avocados are filling and refreshing. Our bodies need that healthy fat, It oils the skin and the joints. They also help lower cholesterol.
I have clipped recipes for years. They were definitely not all recipes for lower cholesterol. Now I am pinning them to my pinterest page. It keeps the clutter out of my kitchen drawers. Everything was frozen except the spinach and the banana. Add water for desired consistency. Add one tablespoon of chia seeds before blending or after--your preference You may also want to add some freshly ground flax seeds.
